We have a few loyal photo and video contributors for our blog, so here is a bit of info on our regulars.
Richard Lornie
Riche, also known as Dog man, Lorndog or just Riche, is our resident film guy, who also gives it a good nudge on the foam. Riche basically lives in the shop. If there is waves, he is out filming or surfing, if there is no waves, he is chilling out the back of Emerald doing work on his up coming 2nd bodyboard DVD which looks like it will be called Chout The World! The much anticipated sequel to his debut film Chout! Riche says his DVD should be in stores by the end of 2011, so keep an eye out for that one, as the parts of it I have seen look even more action packed than his first movie!
Riche regularly gives us framegrabs of the sessions he films, particularly the Island sessions, so the groms can come on our blog and hopefully see themselves if they get good ones out there.
He has a Vimeo page entitled Chout Films where you can check out the clips he has made, and also the first teaser for the previously mentioned Chout the World! DVD.
Below are a couple of shots of the Dog Man in action...
Mitch Pearson
Mitch is one of the Shire's premier up-and-coming surf photographer's. The proof is in the print, with Mitch recently getting a couple of shots run, one in this year's Movement Photo Annual, and a sequence in the latest Movement mag Issue 33.
Mitch regularly shoots both water and land in and around the Cronulla region, as well as doing some road trips with the boys as a dedicated photographer. You can see a bunch of Mitch's favourite shots on his page at Mitchell Pearson Photo. Below are a few of his shots.
Richard Robson
Rich or Big Rich, as he's more commonly known, loves to take both photos and video of bodyboarding. The big fella has recently purchased himself a new still camera, and his first few efforts at shooting stills have turned out quite well, with a few of his shots being run on www.fluidzone.com which is one of Australia's best bodyboard websites. You can check out his work at Robsonsvids on Flickr and his video work on his Vimeo Page. Below are some of his shots.
Paul "Gleeso" Gleeson
Gleeso has long been known as the best surf photographer from Cronulla. He regularly has shots run in both bodyboarding and surf media. His shaved bald head can be seen out Shark Island whenever the waves are pumping, and generally if he's pointing the camera at you, he's getting a good shot of you!
Here are a few of his shots.
Chris "Dicko" Dixon
Dicko is another of Cronulla's talented young photographers.
On his website, his bio page says "A camera has been very rarely out of his grasp since a young age, he is now determined on extending his scopes from the natural scenes and seascapes of Australia to traveling the world capturing unknown settings in similar fashion of his current “visually impacting” style of work."
You can check out all his stuff on his website at www.cdixon-photography.com where Chris showcases some of his favorite shots.
Here are a couple of our favorites.
Sam Venn
Sam Venn is a young photographer from Bundeena. He has recently chosen to take the path of surf photographer, and seems to be progressing his skills quite quickly. He has recently got himself a water housing for his camera, and is fast learning the tricks of the trade. Generally if there is any decent swell out Shark Island or any of his local reefs in Bundeena, Sam can be seen in the water shooting or surfing, trying to get as much as he can done before its time for school. You can see some of his favourite shots on his blog at samvennphotography.tumblr.com. Keep an eye out for more shots from Sam in the near future!
