2011 Pipeline Pro Photos

Day 4 and the final day of the 2011 Pipeline Pro is under way in 
clean 1-2 meter barreling surf. A Pipe Champ will be crowned today.

A large Aussie contingent was on hand to cheer on all the Aussie boys.

Pipeline legend, Spencer Skipper (HAW) picked off this Backdoor nugget in the dying seconds of his round 6 heat to secure himself a spot in round 7

Jason Finlay (AUS) received a wildcard slot into the event. Unfortunately not progressing out of round 6, he did put on a good performance at Backdoor

Ryan Hardy (AUS) scooped into this pipe bomb, giving him the score he needed to move out of round 7

Uri Valadao (BRA), posted an impressive combined heat score of 17.65 to win his round 7 heat

Sacha Specker (ZAF) launched this ARS at backdoor in the final minute of his round 6 heat, scoring 9.10 points out of a possible 10. In round 7, Sacha is matched up with top 16 riders, Guilherme Tamega (BRA), Uri Valadao (BRA) and super talent Mitch Rawlins (AUS)

The Crowd on the beach grows as the Competition narrows down to the Semi Finals

Jared Houston (ZAF) boosted massive moves like this roll over the shallow Backdoor reef, earning him a 3rd place finish

Somebody has to loose. South African Powerhouse, Mark McCarthy put on a stellar performance, but will have to settle for a 5th place overall finish
